Treatments for Men
These treatments are not just for the ladies. We are now, more than ever seeing men in clinic for anti aging treatments such as line reducing injectables, dermal fillers and skin care products.
We also treat many of our male clients for excessive sweating otherwise known as hyperhidrosis. By injecting botulinium toxin type A into the axilla (arm pit) excessive sweating is stopped. It works by blocking nerve endings that supply the sweat glands, temporarily stopping the sweating and one treatment usually lasts between 6 to 9 months leaving you free to enjoy the summer months.
Another very popular treatment for our male clients, is Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) which reduces unwanted hair. Typical areas for men are backs, chest, hands, neck and the top of the inner thigh. IPL helps people who suffer from ingrown hairs and many men who cycle or play a lot of sport have these treatments for this reason.
IPL works by heating the hair follicle causing it to degrade. Several deliveries of light energy can cause permanent hair removal or a very good reduction. Further top ups may be required if needed.
Treatments are quick, relatively painless and there is no downtime. You will need between 4 to 6 sessions, possibly more as every person responds slightly differently. You will need to be seen on a monthly basis and cannot be tanned at time of treatment.

What is Hyperhidrosis?
Generally, for people suffering from excessive sweating, it has been a problem for most of their lives and predominantly affects the underarm, palms of hands and soles of feet. The problem may have started in childhood or early adolescence and worsened at puberty, persisting into adulthood.
Treatment of excessive sweating in the underarm with muscle-relaxing injections has FDA approval. A number of tiny injections will be administered into the underarm area. This works by blocking nerve endings that supply the sweat glands, temporarily stopping the sweating. One treatment will generally last between 6 - 9 months. Once the treatment wears off it can be repeated as often as is necessaryhich stops underarm sweating which can be embarrassing and uncomfortable through the summer months in particular.
